Attorney Kevin Lonergan of the Herrling Clark Law Firm Ltd. was recently accepted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Kevin is the past-President of the Herrling Clark Law Firm in Appleton, Wisc.
The ABOTA is a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges. ABOTA and its members are dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. ABOTA is an invitation-only organization. Members must have at least five years of active experience as trial lawyers, and must have tried at least 10 civil jury trials to conclusion and possess additional litigation experience. Members must also exhibit the virtues of civility, integrity and professionalism by following the ABOTA’s Code of Professionalism and Principles of Civility.
Kevin has been named to the Super Lawyers list of the top 50 lawyers in the state of Wisconsin on multiple occasions. In 2015, he had the distinct honor of being named Wisconsin’s “Trial Lawyer of the Year” by the Wisconsin Association for Justice. Kevin is a Wisconsin Law Foundation “Fellow, ” an honor bestowed on only 2.5 percent of all practicing lawyers.
Kevin is recognized within the legal community for handling complex litigation matters for clients with catastrophic injuries and for clients who have lost loved ones. He has a reputation for successfully trying million or multi-million dollar cases in which the jury verdicts exceeded the insurance companies’ pre-trial offers of settlement. In addition to being rated 10 out 10 by AVVO, Kevin has previously been named the top personal injury and products liability lawyer in the Fox Cities area, and he has been rated one of the top trial lawyers nationally.
After receiving his Bachelor’s degree from the United States Air Force Academy, Kevin earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He was admitted to the Wisconsin State Bar Association in 1979.
