Ruth Stein first joined the Herrling Clark team in 1989. Ruth grew up in the “north woods” (Rhinelander) and graduated from Northland Lutheran High School in Wausau. Ruth was the baby of her family, looking up to two older brothers and two older sisters. Her dad was a Lutheran pastor, and she has fond memories of his time in the pulpit and the fun pranks she and her siblings would play on him while he was preaching. Ruth’s sense of humor and larger-than-life-personality are some of the things she is loved most for at the firm and with her clients.
Experience
When Ruth first came to Herrling Clark, she worked with Attorney Hartzheim, handling estate planning files and business matters. She left the firm for a period of time, working in both the legal field and for an accounting firm as a member of a strategic tax planning team. Ruth returned to Herrling Clark in 2016 and works with Attorney Claypool and his clients. Ruth loves poring over medical records to ensure that every possible detail of a client’s care, treatment, and medical needs are addressed by their team. At the end of 2017, Ruth spent an entire week in trial with Attorney Claypool and was able to watch all of the various parts of a case come together. This experience fundamentally changed her approach to working with clients; Ruth has a “big picture” view of what needs to happen with a case to most thoroughly and effectively prepare a claim for settlement or trial.
When Ruth is not working with clients during the day, she is likely dreaming of her time back in the day with the Hodag Water Ski Team. She also enjoys being out and about with her husband, and she is a proud mom to two grown children.
